ISAIAH 61

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Meet Pierce & Lauren.

Pierce & Lauren both grew up in small towns in Southeast Arkansas. They first met at a 7th grade dance when they were 13 years old. It was love at first sight! Pierce fell in love with the Lord at a young age, this love was grown and strengthened throughout his time in college at UCA. After his sophomore year, he felt the call to full time ministry. Lauren went to college in Louisiana, where she was discipled by her best friend Kristy. After years of long distance, Pierce & Lauren got married in 2013. They then completed the Chi Alpha CMIT internship together. During this time the Lord laid Arkansas Tech on their hearts, & they knew they had to go! They pioneered ATU XA in 2014. Since then, they have grown their family with two precious little girls, Rhodes & Campbell. Pierce loves anything adventurous, Dr. Pepper, & leading worship anytime, anyplace. Lauren loves making & collecting pottery, early 2000’s punk music, & cooking delicious meals. Together they love anything with their girls, riding motorcycles, & hosting people in their home.

  • Kevin & Holly DeYoung

    Kevin and Holly met in Chi Alpha at UCA in 2013. After completing internship at UCA, Holly joined the Chi Alpha team in Little Rock and Kevin joined the Chi Alpha team in Russellville. In 2017 they got married and Holly joined us at ATU in Russellville. In 2019 they welcomed their daughter Olivia into the world and their son Nolan in 2021! Kevin enjoys reading, board games, and casual sports. Holly loves music, painting, and spending time with people.

  • Noah & Kimmy Stephens

    Noah & Kimmy met at a Chi Alpha retreat back in 2015, & have been married since 2017! Noah has been in ministry full time for 3 years, Kimmy for 6 -- both having completed the Internship at UCA. They (along with their 4 pets) have served at ATU Chi Alpha since 2020 & are having so much fun! Noah loves anything outdoors, making things in his shop, & craft coffee. Kimmy loves obsessing over her pets, smoothie bowls, & killing it on the Peloton.

  • Sarah Sheppard

    Sarah & Colton met at a Chi Alpha event in 2019 after Colton decided to come back to college at Arkansas Tech. They got married May 6, 2021! Sarah has been full time with ATU XA for 3 years, Colton is currently an intern. Sarah loves crafting, plants, & spending time with friends and family. Colton is a huge Cardinals fan that loves anything outdoors. They also have a cat named Georgia!

  • Jocelyn Lewis

    Jocelyn & Robert initially crossed paths back in 2016, and in 2020 reconnected. On July 31, 2021 they were married and now are pursing ministry together. In 2019 Jocelyn became a CMIT Intern at Arkansas Tech University and Robert began attending Arkansas School of Ministry in Little Rock, AR. — he is currently an intern with ATU XA. Robert loves to always have a good book to read, is a talented bowler and loves traveling. Jocelyn enjoys eating with people, growing house plants and enjoys spending time with her dog Kylee.

  • Jacob & Autum Stanford

    Jacob & Autum grew up outside of Dallas only 15 minutes away from each other, but didn’t meet until they moved to Arkansas. After college at ATU, Jacob worked in the marketplace for 4 years, then completed the XA internship in 2020. Autum played soccer for UCA, helped start a soccer dgroup, & then did her internship in 2019 at UCA. They got married in the summer for 2021. Jacob loves getting out in the woods, playing music, & taking roadtrips. Autum loves online shopping, cuddling with her dog Banjo, & tanning while Jacob fishes.

Arkansas Tech Chi Alpha offers a one-year Campus Missionary in Training (CMIT) internship for students who have felt the call of the Lord to pursue full time ministry. The internship is powerful, impactful, and so much fun! Our twelve 2021-2022 interns are out on campus every day meeting students & inviting them into the family. They serve, they love, & they could have a dance party anytime, anyplace. If you are interested in doing the CMIT internship with ATU XA & sharing the gospel on the college campus, let’s talk!     Start your week off the right way! Every Monday night we gather together as a body to worship the Lord and dive into the Word together as a large group community. If you are looking for a family, this is the place! All are welcome here! Monday nights at 7:30 in Doc Bryan Lecture Hall on campus.

  • JOIN A DGROUP.

    DGroups, or Discipleship Groups, are the heart of Chi Alpha. We model it all after how Jesus interacted with His disciples. Our goal is to pursue God together weekly, read the Word together, pray together, and be in each other’s lives & homes! Think Acts 2! DGroups happen all week long and at all different times! Join a Dgroup, it will change your life!

  • RETREAT WITH GOD.

    Let’s get away together! Retreats are the perfect weekend to get away from the hustle of schoolwork and spend extravagant time with the Lord & with family. We go on multiple weekend retreats throughout the year that are life changing & so much fun! Follow our social medias for all the details!

  • TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.

    We believe that God has called us to the ends of the earth! We dedicate a portion of our summer towards being on mission for the Lord. We affectionately call this, Project 222. We have seen God do amazing things over the years! There are so many ways to get involved, send us a message!
